Gene Phoa is an Adelaide-born singer-songwriter and acoustic artist providing inspiring live entertainment for corporate functions, weddings, private parties and public events.
Reinventing over 100 songs, Gene’s pop/rock/folk repertoire ranges from The Beatles classics to Oasis singalongs to connect with a wide range of audiences. Performing in a solo or band format, Gene fuses vocals/guitar with FX and live looping to transform the room from laid back acoustic vibes to an upbeat atmosphere.
Classically trained in piano, Gene picked up the guitar in his teens, studied sound production at the Adelaide College of the Arts and trained in vocals with the likes of Jon Wiza (La Voz Colombia). A rising artist who has performed at 300+ events for clients including JLL, Datacom and City of Marion, Gene also took out the lyrics award at the SCALA Festival of Original Music (2019) and debuted an indie dream-pop rom-com ‘500 Nights of Winter’ at Adelaide Fringe (2021).
