“Alcat” is listening made easy … with the timeless music of Eagles, Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Crowded House, Beatles, Elton John, Ronan Keating, Split Enz, Jimmy Webb … Featuring the voice and guitar of Alan Rosewarne and the sublime violin of Catherine Hannaford. “Alcat” is Catherine Hannaford on violin and Alan Rosewarne on guitar and vocals. Catherine is a superb musician and career-long professional, working as both an educator and performer. Her many years of teaching includes conducting, arranging and accompanying and her performing embraces a host of musical styles and formats – from classical to pop/rock, orchestras to string quartets. Alan has been playing and performing just about as long as he can remember. Stints in original folk-pop line-ups evolved into lead vocal duties with some of the town’s favourite pub and stage performance bands such as the near-legendary Joe Fish and the Chips and the enduringly-popular Bald Eagles. Catherine’s string-trio collaboration with the Baldies over several sell-out Fringe seasons has been a musical highlight for both. Alcat plays the sort of music that makes listening easy with fresh, stylish interpretations of some of classic music of the Boomers’ era – with songs from Cat Stevens, Eagles, Neil Young, Crowded House, Elton John, Beatles and more.
